Mr. Smith is currently retired. He proudly served the families of Aiken County for 38 years as an employee of the Aiken County Public School District. During this time Mr. Smith served as a teacher, coach/head coach, athletic director, school bus driver, alternative school instructor, assistant principal, principal and school board member from 2010 - 2014. He graduated from Graniteville High School and earned a BA degree from Newberry College in Physical Education and Recreation and a M.ed from The University of South Carolina in Administration and Supervision. He is married to the former Susan Kirkland of North Augusta. Together, they have two children and five Grandchildren (Ages 3 - 9) of which two are currently enrolled in Aiken County Public Schools.
